Our Clients and Communities
We focus on making a real difference in the lives of children and women in rural Western Cape communities and farms. We work with underprivileged children from Grade R to 12 and empower, train, and employ local women as our facilitators.
Anna Foundation appeals to, and partners with, farms and organisations to host programmes for the children of rural workers in their community. These children directly benefit, and their working parents or caregivers can continue their work with confidence, knowing their children and teens are safe and productive in a wholesome learning environment.
Farmers
Launch a social project on your farm to benefit your staff's children. We manage all aspects of the project, from startup, facilitator training, and providing the programme that is used daily. We monitor the programme on site and report back to you monthly. Your responsibility is to provide a venue for use as an after-school facility, identify key role players within your community to train as facilitators and manage the upkeep of the facility. We welcome your involvement in as many areas of the project as you wish.
Collaborators and Schools
Rural schools and organisations can partner with us to strengthen their after-school support, sports, and life skills for learners from Grades R to 12. Make classrooms available to us in the afternoons, extending the children in your schools' opportunities for further learning support.

Success Stories
For many children attending Lorraine Primary Farm School in Rawsonville, the hours after school can be the most vulnerable part of the day.
Since February 2024, the Anna Foundation’s after-school programme has changed that reality for around 100 learners from Grades R to 4. Through literacy and numeracy support, sport, life skills activities, and structured play, children are given a safe, nurturing environment where they feel valued, supported, and motivated to learn. With formal school days ending around 1 pm, the Anna Foundation programmes fill the rest of a learner’s day with support and structure, sending them home at 5 pm fed, nurtured, and with their homework done.
Eight women from within the local communities have been trained to implement the 3 Rs programme and administer consistent reading intervention for these learners after school hours.
Today, the programme is doing more than supporting academic growth. It is offering children safety, purpose, and hope while helping them develop the skills they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Outcome: Around 100 young learners now have access to holistic after-school support that strengthens their academic, physical, and emotional development. Eight rural women, previously unemployed, are now skilled, trained and employed as facilitators at the project.
Their consistent presence and positive energy create a nurturing and structured environment where learners feel valued, supported, and motivated to learn.

The Anna Foundation started the Neethlingshof project in 2010. Katy Booysen has been the facilitator for this project for the past 16 years, receiving ongoing training from the Anna Foundation to equip her with the skills and support she requires. Katy is also a parent in the community and has played an invaluable role in these children’s lives as they have grown up. She remains a pillar to the children and the community at large.
“When I started working as a facilitator, I did not have a lot of knowledge,” Katy shares. “The monthly 3Rs training sessions have helped me grow so much over the years.”
Katy has had the privilege of watching learners grow from pre-school through to the end of their school careers. One such success story is Wesley, who attended the Neethlingshof afterschool programme and now works as a firefighter. Reflecting on his experience, Wesley says: “Afterschool was one of the highlights of my childhood. It honestly helped shape the person I am today.”
Neethlingshof currently supports 26 learners from Grade R to Grade 12. Through homework support, educational games, sport, and drama activities, learners are encouraged to grow academically while also developing important life skills such as resilience, empathy, discipline, and confidence.

Will I receive a monthly report as a farming client?
Yes, project managers send out monthly reports so that farm owners feel a part of the programme. You’ll find out what the children have learnt, news from cultural outings, and receive photographs to give you an overview of our continued engagement with the children.
What geographical areas does Anna Foundation cover in farm partnerships?
We partner with farms in the rural Western Cape regions. Many of our farming clients are in local farmlands in the municipal districts of Stellenbosch, Paarl, Breede Valley, Cape Town, Langeberg, and Overberg.
What are the costs involved to start an Anna Foundation Programme on my farm?
Tailored project costs depend on factors such as programme set-up, facilitator requirements, and the number of children participating on your farm. Annual sponsorship options typically range from R35,000 to R155,000, with varying levels of support and involvement to suit different needs and budgets.
